Project Oasis of Hope was founded by Kleon and Kathy Cronk when they were at Oasis Hospital as companions for a friend who was eventually cured of a cancerous tumor. During their stay, the couple found themselves involved in ministry among the patients and companions. After much prayer and planning, Project Oasis of Hope was born.

    The project began in January of 1999, and has continued with great success. Many people have been led to the Lord with spiritual comfort and miraculous healing along the way. Volunteers at Project Oasis of Hope are known as "Amigos de Esperanza", which means "Friends of Hope".

    Project Oasis of Hope is based on the concept of coordinating mission-minded couples or individuals who volunteer to serve for a period of one to two months.

    Oasis of Hope, a Christian cancer treatment hospital located in Playas de Tijuana, Mexico, was founded in1963 by Dr. Ernesto Contreras Sr.  People from more than 50 countries have sought treatment at Oasis of Hope.
